the ground was white from a blanket of snow and as a tom padded through it, feeling the cold sink into his body, he watched as his paws left behind prints. behind him, he could hear the larger steps of his daemon babur and he shook his head, knowing what would be going through the tiger's head and what he would no doubt bring out into the open air - it would always be the complete opposite of his very own thoughts.
"we shouldn't be out here," the tiger growled at him and although horus could understand the tom's words, he knew that if anyone else tried to hear the growl, that's all they would have heard. horus turned his head around to look at the tiger, a large beast that rose even higher than he and he shook his head. "we are out here because i needed a little alone time." things were a little different between he and babur. he knew from others with the daemon disease that there was a bone of friendship that none was suppose to match, but with babur it was the opposite.
it was a bond of hatred and fear. the two of them were completely different and one would never allow the other to forget that. horus was a quiet, polite observer who thought that the females of the tribe were treated wrongly. babur thought that horus should get into the life of the tribe more and act like the tom that others were. abrasive and even, as far as horus could see it, abusive to the females and their rights to choose who to mate with, when to mate, and even to choose the outcome of the kits - if they were ready for that or not. horus was like his father and mother, babur was like his brother.
and it bugged the hell out of him.
the tom approached the wall that, as legend in the tribe claimed, was built by the hands of the cursed - those who had lost most of their fur and were forced to stand upright. babur, standing a few feet behind him, yawned and plopped the ground, curling his tail around him. "tell me when you are ready to go back. all this snow is annoying me. there's no fun to be had here." horus sighed, turning around and looking at the tiger,. a daemon was suppose to fight and protect the feline they shared a soul with and yet...he knew babur would only do that to save his own skin.
oh gods, why is he with me? shaking his head once more, his eyes turned to scan the world around him.
ooc: eh, decent. sorry, i stink sometimes at opening posts and i was bored. but this is open to anyone! ;D

Cold. That was the predominating feeling that resonated through the bond that the eagle and cat shared. However, the cold was mostly on the eagle's side. He was not built for the cold but the she-cat's fur made it bearable.
'Tell me again why you wanted to come out of the barn?' Usually Stryker was one that loved action but not today for there would be no action to be had. Only the wall that Nefertiti had wanted to come visit. 'To walk the roads of history and ponder the atrocities of our distant two-legged cousins.' Her thought-words had the desired effect, her daemon fell silent and she was given time to focus on the task at hand-er, paw.
The snow which had started to cover the ground made her paws sink but she didn't mind. She just wanted to come to the wall for a bit of thinking time. What she didn't tell her daemon (although he was sure to find out sooner or later) was that her thoughts could be about anything. Her topic could be the humans or it could be whether or not she wanted to find other felines with similar views as hers, loners and maybe even tribe cats. A girl could hope...
The eagle above her gave a wordless shriek of warning. Nefertiti found that odd since Stryker almost always had something to say and with his arrogance he was never alarmed about anything. 'What's the matter, Stryke?' In reply the eagle gave off a screech only this one had words in it, "There's a cat and a tiger up ahead. I think the tiger is a daemon." Tiger? That was distinctly worrying and yet Nefertiti was intrigued. The tiger had to be a daemon and she wanted to meet all of the other cats who held the same disease as she did, so she walked forward with a bit more pep to her step. While Stryker was unsure about the large beast, as was Nefertiti, he said nothing about it and showed only his usual fierceness through his golden eyes.
Finally the pair made it within a few feet of the tiger and cat. Nefertiti opened her mouth to better scent them, she received the scent of the tribe. She considered retreating as a tomcat from the tribe would most likely try to bring her back, or worse...'Don't be so fearful. I am here with you. If that tiger tries anything I shall tear his eyes.' Usually Stryker's bloodthirsty thoughts and words slightly repelled the feline but this time it was reassuring to have his backup and support. Their personalities clashed but in a way it was a harmonious clashing that allowed them to fit together more. Sort of like the saying "opposites attract". Not to mention the raptor was the embodiment of Nefertiti's anger and negative traits.
"Why, hello there, I never expected to see another cat out in such unfavorable weather." Her light voice spoke confidently. Her golden eagle daemon dove out of the air and landed beside her as he eyed the large tiger before them.
"Nefertiti's words are this color!" These are Nefertiti's thoughts!

as the wind picked up, babur's ears pricked at the tiger looked up into the sky and the fur along his spine started to bristle. the thing horus did enjoy about having a tiger as a daemon, is that their responses were so similar that he didn't need to learn the tom's reactions and neither did they need to talk, even mentally, to understand certain things. the tiger flashed horus a look and then got to his paw, a low growl escaping through his throat. and soon enough, to figures came into view. a cat, she-cat from what horius could tell, and an eagle. horus' looked between the two creatures curiously and smiled.
babur, on the other hand, continued growling and approached the two of them. horus cast the tiger a glare, but babur ignored it. the tiger took another step towards them and horus pushed himself in front of the tiger, glaring at it again. "stop it," he thought. "be nice!" babur raised his head at his 'master', trying to act all high and mighty. just like he believed that he was despite the fact that in all reality, he shouldn't even exist. "stand down, babur. they've done nothing to harm us." horus' eyes were hard and steady, steadier than they usually were against the tiger.
"she is not of the tribe," the tiger growled at him, casting his eyes towards the pair. "and we are stepping on their lands - not the other way around. stand down, babur." the tiger stared at him for a moment, then turned and stalked off only to lay back in the snow a ways away. "grumpy idiot," horus muttered under his breath and sighed, turning to look at the pair together, then rested his eyes on the she-cat who had spoken towards them. he smiled kindly before making one last glance at the tiger behind him to make sure he wasn't going to get any wise ideas.
"I don't think babur was wanting to see anyone out here. he's...not the kindest piece of soul in the world." his relation with the tiger often stumped felines and in reality, it often stumped him so he didn't like going into the whole ordeal and he especially stayed away from the topic of his family to strangers. it all gave him a headache when he tried to explain it all. he looked at the eagle and smiled. "i assume that's your daemon?" he enjoyed meeting someone else who had a daemon that wasn't his brother.

The tomcat appeared to be perfectly amiable but the tiger on the other paw was completely different. He rose to his paws, growling angrily. Nefertiti blinked in surprise and took a hesitant step back but Stryker merely shrieked at the creature and stared him down angrily. Fully prepared to protect his joint soul.
The tomcat intervened and stopped the conflict from happening, much to Nefertiti's relief. Two pairs of eyes watched as the tiger stalked off to lay down elsewhere and to the she-cat's annoyance, Stryker gave the tiger a smug smile. Her tail started to twitch and she had to put a rear foot upon it to stop the motion.

[/b] Nefertiti smiled back at him. She wasn't expecting him to be outright friendly with her, especially since she was a loner. That was usually enough to bring out any hostility in a male since they were used to females being submissive and bowing to their needs. "Don't worry, I know how that is." She gave a wink and glanced at the eagle who was now pouting at her. A bit of laughter escaped from her maw at his expression and she patted him reassuringly with her tail. "And yes, Stryker here, he is my daemon." The eagle had once again regained his composure and managed to puff his chest out at the introduction. "You know, it is very rare that I get to see another cat with a daemon. Especially one such as yours," She figured an introduction was in order since they had already given their daemon's names and also since the tom seemed so kind. In her book kindness should be returned with kindness. "I am Nefertiti and it is a pleasure to meet you..." Her voice trailed off as she expected the tom to give her his name as well.
"Nefertiti's words are this color!" These are Nefertiti's thoughts!
